About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing & Screening: Assist in identifying, evaluating, and screening potential investment opportunities from various channels, including the TrailblzrGO Education pipeline, venture studio initiatives, and external networks.

Due Diligence: Conduct comprehensive due diligence on prospective portfolio companies, including market research, competitive analysis, financial modeling, and team assessment.

Investment Analysis: Prepare investment memos, financial models, and presentations to support investment decisions for the General Partner.

Portfolio Support: Assist in monitoring portfolio company performance, conducting market research to support their growth, and identifying potential follow-on investment opportunities.

Market Research: Conduct ongoing research on industry trends, emerging technologies, and investment landscapes in African, US, and Canadian markets, particularly as they relate to our investment thesis.

LP Relations Support: Assist in preparing materials for investor communications and reports.

Ecosystem Engagement: Support the engagement with the broader TrailblzrGO community and education programs to identify promising ventures and foster connections.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Demonstrated interest in early-stage startups, venture capital, and/or African and immigrant-led innovation.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a lean, dynamic team.

  • Proficiency in research tools and platforms relevant to venture capital.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
